Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy text adventure

Wicked! I just found a copy of the original Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy text adventure online as shareware! This was the original game as sort of written by Douglas Adams with the game itself designed by Steve Meretzky of Infocom. It originally came out in 1984 and thus has no flashy graphics or any flashy sound. At all. Not even a tiny bit of either. White typing on a black screen and that's all she wrote, bubbah. Plus it's wicked hard, so probably not for the usual little video dinks out there now. Or is that a challange? Huh? Hah? Heh? You should try it, it's cool.

Kid Nation

The latest from the freaks in TV-land is a "reality show" called Kid Nation. The network CBS, which used to have morals, has decided that rather than informing people about what is going on in the world, it makes more sense to televise child abuse. The alleged premise of the show was that forty children, aged 8 ½ to 15, were dropped into a New Mexico rat-hole called Bonanza where they had to run their own society for a certain amount of time. Some kids were injured and the TV freaks will get to cheer as young people get hurt and have break-downs right there on TV. Crack a beer and have a mayonnaise sandwich there, pal. Does it get any better?

Well, yeah. There are rules for how much time children are allowed to work in a day. This is so that scum cannot take advantage of young people. Well those amazing folks at CBS figured out a way around that. They used to be #1 at news, now they do this. Good move. I wonder what Dan or Walter are doing these days? I figure that Ed R Murrow is spinning in his grave. Way to go.

John Cox

This is John Cox and if I ever accidently write a book he is the dude I'm going to want to draw the cover. Below are a couple of his drawings. Excellent. I've provided a link to his web-site. Enjoy.

The Americone Dream

Oh man, I gotta get me some of that. I mean, without any hyperbole, isn't Steven Colbert America's last, best hope? God bless you, Stephen. God bless you. Oh, and Ben & Jerry too.
